Dear All,
Welcome to The School of Writing's Blog.
Thank you for having shown such keen interest in us and so causing us to make this blog. The purpose of this blog is to keep you updated about the latest and upcoming events of The School of Writing.
Not only will you be able to receive updates but you will also be able to read articles, essays, poems and any other piece of writing that people have produced during The School of Writing's Workshops, Online Competitions or other promotions as this blog is meant to showcase and highlight their work.
A lot of people do not seem to understand that Writing has served as a medium of communication in our lives since a very long time. It is a part of our history as mankind. As soon as Man made a language for himself, he found the need to keep a record of what he said and did and who he communicated with. Man was no longer satisfied with relying on his memory, which must have failed him several times.
At first, pictures were made to suffice for the need to record everything. However, the nature of writing has been constantly evolving, and it has evolved from pictures to symbols to letters, particularly due to the development of new technologies over the centuries.
Writing helps us to be able to break boundaries and express ourselves to people all over the world. It creates a certain immortality, which could not be experienced without writing as it is one of the universal mediums of communication despite the language barrier. Not only do we connect with other people, we learn to connect with ourselves because:
"The pen is the tongue of the mind." - Miguel de Cervantes
Socially, writing is seen as an authoritative means of communication, from legal documentation, law and the media everything is produced through this medium.
Even if a plan must be formulated, it first needs to be put in writing before it can be finessed and worked on.
Yes, writing is a time consuming activity but it doesn't have to be a tedious, dull task and no matter how hard a student will try to avoid it, writing letters, essays and emails are an integral part of everyday life that help to shape a person's personality, future career and his role in a company/organization.
If one does not know the proper terminology or usage of the English Language then their progress in the world is very limited as English and Writing have become synonymous with Universality as Writing is the most common means of Communication and English is the most common language for writing.

However, throughout the centuries, the art and skill of writing has been downplayed to a certain extent as to leave it rather forlornly neglected.
And this is where The School of Writing steps in ... we are on a mission to not only breathe new life in to writing but altogether change the dreary outlook and concept of writing via The School of Writing's Writing workshops.
The School of Writing Workshops not only aims to assist the students to better learn to express themselves but also aim to provide a platform to all the shy writers to reveal their work to the world.
Let us help to show the world that there is beauty in words!
